Are You Passing on the Torch?

| February 26, 2014 | 0 Comments

Over the last several years I have had an increasing number of conversations with people who are retiring. Many of these individuals have been significant contributors to their organizations, positively impacting the lives of th[1]employees, clients and the larger community. Often they will conclude our conversation with, “It’s time for me to pass on the torch.” While I certainly agree that there is a time when passing on the torch makes sense, it should not mean that you stop carrying a torch. I urgently implore all torch carriers to consider picking up a new torch.

In every community, there’s work to be done. In every nation there are wounds to heal. In every heart, there is the power to do it.” – Marianne Williamson

Passing on one torch provides us with the opportunity to pick up and carry a new torch. We desperately need the wisdom, experience and heart of many more torch bearers. Look around and pick up a torch that lights your passion and opportunity to make a difference. Trust me, you will gain much more than you gave.

Take care, Julia
